This time lapse was taken in the summer of 2020
near Creston just north on Highway 3a as you travel toward Boswell. The beautiful Mountain range in the background are the Selkirk. There is a gazebo like structure on the side of the highway built by a local community service group for viewing. There are some wild cherry trees surrounding the structure and my wife almost fell down the mountain picking a big bag of cherries that day. They were rainier cherries and they were delicious!
The Creston Valley is located along Highway 3 – Crowsnest Highway – a winding path through towering mountains, over meandering rivers and creeks, and along shimmering lakes. It is part of the International Selkirk Loop, a 450-kilometre scenic drive encircling the spectacular Selkirk Mountains in eastern Washington, northern Idaho and southeastern BC. From Calgary you’re just a half-day’s beautiful drive away, and just two hours away from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
