I use 8 frame langstroth hives, and will be speaking specifically about that, but you can use whatever you like.

I often tell people to please gather up your supplies and gain knowledge for the first year before you get bees, because getting beekeeping equipment all at once can often be pretty financially overwhelming! Especially because it is recommended to at least get to hive set ups to begin with.

I've been beekeeping since 2018 and have had bee experiences since 2015. I learned I first wanted bees in 2013/2014. There's so much to learn about bees, I encourage you to learn as much as you can before you dive in.
