Sindhi Aloo Pulao Recipe | Toty Chawal Desi Style | Pakistani Traditional Pulao in Urdu

Today we are making Sindhi Aloo Pulao (Toty Chawal Style) – a traditional and delicious Pakistani recipe. This pulao is made with potatoes, aromatic spices, and broken rice (Toty Chawal) for an authentic Sindhi taste.

Assalamu Alaikum All Friends.

🥔 سندھی آلو پلاو (Toty Chawal Style)

اجزاء (Ingredients):

Chawal (Rice) – 2 cups (Toty chawal, half broken rice)
Aloo (Potatoes) – 3 medium (peeled & cubed)
Pyaz (Onion) – 2 large (thin sliced)
Tamatar (Tomato) – 2 medium (chopped)
Adrak Lahsun Paste (Ginger Garlic Paste) – 1 tbsp
Zeera (Cumin Seeds) – 1 tsp
Sabut Garam Masala (Whole spices: tez patta 2, dalchini 1 stick, elaichi 3, laung 4, kali mirch 8–10)
Namak (Salt) – to taste
Lal Mirch Powder (Red Chili Powder) – 1 tsp
Haldi (Turmeric) – ½ tsp
Dhania Powder (Coriander Powder) – 1 tsp
Hari Mirch (Green Chilies) – 3 slit
Hara Dhania (Fresh Coriander) – chopped for garnish
Oil – ½ cup
Water – as required

طریقہ (Method):

1. Rice Soaking
Chawal dhokar 30 min ke liye bhigo dein.

2. Fry Onion
Degchi mein oil garam karke pyaz golden brown fry kar lein.

3. Add Spices & Aloo
Ab adrak lahsun paste, zeera aur sabut garam masala dal kar thoda bhun lein.
Tamatar, mirch powder, haldi, dhania powder aur namak dal kar bhunai karen.
Aloo ke cubes dal kar 5–7 min bhun lein.

4. Gravy Preparation
Pani dal kar aloo 80% cook hone tak medium flame par paka lein.

5. Add Rice
Bhige hue chawal dal kar pani adjust karein (rice se 1½ inch zyada pani ho).
Hari mirch bhi dal dein.

6. Dum (Steam Cooking)
Jab pani sukhnay lage to flame low karke 15 min dum par rakh dein.

7. Final Touch
Hara dhania chhidak kar garma garam serve karein.
