Beginner's Guide to Video Speed Controller Chrome Extension - Learn Faster Series Pt 2

Описание: While the built in YouTube video player allows you to speed up videos by up to 2x speed, you can further benefit by speeding up videos even faster. The Video Speed Controller Google Chrome extension allows you to play videos past the 2x barrier seen in most video players (including YouTube's built in player). This enables what I like to call the "super speed effect", allowing you to quickly skim videos on fast forward and then watch at normal speed for the parts that are relevant to what you're looking for.

Here's the benefits you can gain from this technique paired with the chrome extension (I've done seen all of these myself at one time or another):

Get through more content by watching at an increased speed. Sometimes certain presenters can talk very slowly and you can easily listen more naturally at nearly 2x speed. If you think a presenter talks slow try bumping up the speed a bit and see if it feels more natural.
Watching product reviews on fast speed so you can watch more reviews in the same time you would have spent on normal speed. This lets you see more opinions and to pick up on small details only some reviews have that might be more useful to you. This works equally as well for any kind of how-to content where you'll likely want to watch more than just one video on the topic.
Skimming tutorial videos and only slowing down for the parts you are interested in (particularly useful if you're not sure if the even video contains a nuanced technique that is less common or that you might not have the perfect search term to find it yet)
Not missing out on live streams when joining late or having to step away. You can watch from the beginning and catch up by watching at a fast playback speed, then jump to normal speed when you catch up to live. This can also work for sporting events you may be joining late if watching in a web browser. I recently used it to fast watch the first period of a hockey game on [NHL.tv](http://nhl.tv) so I didn't miss any of the action before catching up to the live content.
Fast forwarding through ads (or just jumping forward a few seconds till you see the skip ad button, saving you a few seconds on most videos you watch)
Use the customizability of this extension to gain more custom control of your video player beyond the built in YouTube shortcut keys. (Higher or slower speed increments, larger or smaller advance or rewind increments, quick jump to preferred speed and reset to default speed)
Speed up content on players that don't have any kinds of visible playback controls (such as news websites or social media). This extension hooks into any video in your browser, giving you control you otherwise would not have.
Quickly power through videos you need to watch when in a hurry. Like content for school or sent by coworkers where you just need the gist of what the content contains but are less interested in the details. Or maybe your partner started a good TV show without you and you need to catch up (this works on things like Netflix as well)
