These DIY wire rack covers are really easy to do and can make a big impact on not just the look, but the function of your pantry. Everyone has different storage needs, so I would encourage you to make a list of your needs and think about what containers make the most sense.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SHELF COVERS

1. Measure your shelves when they are totally free from clutter. Measure the length of your shelf and measure the depth of your shelf. Add 1 inch to the depth of your shelf measurement If you do not do this, your shelf cover will not fit correctly. The number of each you will need is based on the number of shelves you need to cover.
2. I used wood paneling and 1x2 wood pieces to make my shelves. If you do not have a saw to cut the paneling or 1x2's, you can ask the store to cut your pieces if you purchase them at somewhere like Home Depot or Lowes. The wood paneling must be cut to the depth and width of your shelves. The 1x2's just have to be cut to the length.
3. Stain your wood pieces to match the wood paneling the best you can.
4. Once the stained pieces are dry, I used a drill to screw the wood paneling into the 1x2's. If you do not have a drill, you can use a screwdriver.
5. Slide your wood covers over the wire shelves.
6. Stand back and enjoy your work and your new pantry shelf covers!
