Unboxing New KitchenAid Stand Mixer Refurbished

Have you ever wondered about how KitchenAid stand mixers stack up compared to Bosch or Cuisinart stand mixers? I tried all 3! And after trying all 3, my determination was the KitchenAid was the best option for me.

I purchased this stand mixer directly from KitchenAid's website - it was in the Refurbished section, which meant it was discounted compared to a brand new model. It also happened to be further marked down on sale at the time, and I was able to get an additional discount by using a coupon code I obtained by signing up for KitchenAid's emails.

Originally I purchased this same stand mixer from Costco, which is a great deal as well, but I ended up getting it for even less money than the one at Costco.

I've also heard people have been able to get great deals on Facebook Marketplace, but I liked the fact that I have a 12 month warranty from KitchenAid, which you don't get when you purchase second hand.

One of the reasons I decided not to go with the Bosch was because I didn't think it did a good job making Royal Icing, which is a really big part of what I plan to use my mixer for. The Bosch is a powerhouse for making dough, but when it came to the royal icing, it just was too challenging for me to get a good fluffy batch.

The Cuisinart was ok, but I couldn't get the height of the beaters to adjust - the little screw that you're supposed to turn was too tight, and even with my husband's help and using a wrench to hold the screwdriver, neither of us could get it to budge.
