Welcome back to another train journey vlog on Pak Railography!
This time, I am traveling from Lahore to Multan Cantt on one of Pakistan Railways' most famous trains, 28DN Shalimar Express. With temperatures touching nearly 45°C, I decided to travel in the modern AC Standard Class, and honestly, it turned out to be one of the most comfortable summer train journeys I have experienced.
The journey begins early in the morning from Lahore Junction. Soon after departure, breakfast is served, which is included in the AC class ticket. The combination of Aloo Anday Ki Bhujia, Paratha, and Tea was simple yet delicious and made for a perfect start to the day.
One of the highlights of this trip was traveling in the new CRRC coaches. While the scorching summer heat dominated the landscape outside, the air conditioning inside remained excellent throughout the journey, creating a cool and relaxing atmosphere.
During the trip, I also visited the beautiful Executive Lounge Dining Car, where I explored the onboard restaurant and met a cheerful family enjoying their meal. As Shalimar Express runs through the single-line section between Shahdara and Khanewal, there were plenty of interesting train crossings and railway operations to watch along the way.
From the green countryside of Punjab to the busy railway stations en route, this journey captures the charm and beauty of train travel in Pakistan. By afternoon, I arrived at Multan Cantt Railway Station, where Part 1 of this adventure comes to an end.
