Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu arrived at the spot, promising compensation and relocating affected passengers to other terminals.
Moving to Jabalpur, a part of the fabric canopy at Dumna Airport's new terminal collapsed due to overnight rains, raising serious questions about the construction's quality. This terminal, inaugurated just three months ago, suffered damage to a government official's car parked underneath.
In southwest Delhi's Vasant Vihar, an under-construction wall collapsed, trapping at least laborers. Rescue operations are still underway.
Meanwhile, Bihar witnessed its fourth bridge collapse in a week, disrupting connectivity between Bahadurganj and Dighalbank blocks, though no injuries were reported.
In Telangana, an under-construction bridge collapsed in Peddapalli district, halted by contractor issues. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
And in Bengaluru, heavy rainfall caused part of the road near a metro station construction site to cave in, snarling traffic. A similar incident took place earlier last month when a part of the road caved in due to the collapse of a structure at the metro site.
These incidents highlight a worrying trend of infrastructure failures across India, leaving a big question to be answered - What measures is the government taking to prevent such tragedies in the future?
