This video brings together the final elements of the 4-3-3 system I’ve been testing.
The system is built around a False 9, a Shadow Striker CAM, and a Box-to-Box midfielder, but it needed an adjustment when coming up against teams playing with two CDMs.
By switching the CAM into a half-winger role, the midfield block gets stretched, creating space for the False 9 to drop into the pocket and link the attack.
This video shows how the system evolves, why the adjustment works, and how it leads to the final goal.
