In this AWS Tips video, we will cover a critical concept for encrypting existing (unencrypted) Amazon EBS volumes and EFS file systems.

You will learn:
Why you *cannot* simply "turn on" encryption for an existing EBS volume or EFS file system that was created without encryption.
*The Workaround (EBS):* How to create a snapshot, copy it as an encrypted snapshot, and then create a new encrypted volume from it.
*The Workaround (EFS):* How to create a new, encrypted EFS file system and use tools (like EFS Utils or DataSync) to copy the data over.
This is a "must-know" operation for securing existing storage resources in AWS.
