Sade Robinson Was Photographed on Max Anderson’s Couch. But What Was Missing?

Описание: 🟥 The red couch. The waitress apron. The flannel. The stains. On Day 5.3 of the First Date Murder Trial, the courtroom turned its focus to the apartment where prosecutors say Sade Robinson spent her final night alive. But the story inside that home is anything but straightforward.

🧩 Three detectives took the stand—Kayla Bjerke, Joanne Donner, and Andrew Sullivan—each tasked with walking the jury through what police found, and what they didn't. Exhibits showed clothing strewn across Anderson’s apartment, a backpack in the closet, and a Carhartt shirt prosecutors say he wore on his date with Sade.

📸 Then came the twist: photographs recovered from Maxwell Anderson’s phone, showing Sade on that red couch. A blue pillow beside her. Evidence, the State said, that she had been there. But when investigators returned on April 16 to look for bloodstains, they found discoloration on the fabric—yet chose not to test it. “We already knew she was there,” testified Detective Donner. “You don’t need DNA to prove someone sat on a couch.”

👮‍♀️ Detective Kayla Bjerke, under aggressive cross-examination, conceded that the apartment was closed after the April 5 search—and no officers remained at the scene. From that point forward, no one can say who entered the apartment, what they did, or what might have been moved.

👁️‍🗨️ The Defense focused in: no bleach smell, no blacklight scan, no confirmation that those stains weren’t important. Even the shoes seen in surveillance video—never recovered. As the jury listened, the story of what happened to Sade began to shift from what police found to what they might have missed.

👥 WITNESS BREAKDOWN
🔹 Detective Kayla Bjerke — Lead search officer for April 4–6 warrants. Admitted under oath that after April 5, the crime scene was closed and unsecured. No police were present.
🔹 Detective Joanne Donner — Recalled to explain red couch stains and phone photo discovery. Said stains were not DNA tested because Sade’s presence was confirmed by photo.
🔹 Detective Andrew Sullivan — Searched lower-level apartment belonging to Pete Warrington. Nothing of evidentiary value found. Tenant cooperated.

⚖️ KEY LEGAL DYNAMICS
📂 Scene was closed on April 5 — unsecured from that point forward
🩸 Couch stains presumptively tested negative — no DNA test pursued
📷 Photos from Max Anderson’s phone placed Sade in the apartment
🪪 No evidence of bleach or ammonia cleaning agents
🧰 Basement workbench examined — no murder weapon found
👟 Shoes seen on bus surveillance never located in home

🟦 HOW THIS HELPS THE STATE
✅ Establishes Sade Robinson’s physical presence inside Anderson’s apartment using phone photos
✅ Links the red couch to her final known moments
✅ Reinforces timeline that places her at the scene prior to disappearance

🟥 HOW THIS HELPS THE DEFENSE
🔎 Highlights scene was left unsecured after April 5 — no control over who entered
❌ DNA not tested on potential stains
❓ No signs of struggle or cleanup — messy, but not violent
🧳 Key clothing items (shoes, jacket, backpack) never recovered
🧪 No blood tied to Sade found in the home

❓ QUESTIONS RAISED BY THE CLIP
🤔 Why didn't law enforcement fully test couch stains despite visible discoloration?
🤔 Could evidence have been moved, removed, or planted after the scene was closed?
🤔 Does the absence of physical evidence weaken the prosecution’s theory of an in-apartment homicide?
