While there seemed to be some philosophical differences Sarkisian had with Kwiatkowski, the reality is that you do not turn down the opportunity to hire Will Muschamp as your defensive coordinator. Hiring somebody of Muschamp's caliber proves that Texas is all in on winning a National Title in 2026. However, one must speculate as to whether Texas' actual issue is on defense. Sarkisian has not had a Top 15 ranked offense since becoming the head coach of Texas.
