In this video we explain Activity 1.11 from Class 9 Science Chapter 1 – Matter in Our Surroundings.
In this activity we use three syringes to understand the compressibility of solids, liquids and gases.
Experiment steps:
•One syringe is kept empty (gas)
•Second syringe is filled with water (liquid)
•Third syringe is filled with chalk pieces (solid)
By pushing the piston we observe which substance can be compressed easily.
Concept explained:
•Compressibility of gases
•Difference between solids, liquids and gases
•Space between particles of matter
