Offer this part some kindness and just allow it to be.
Invite the critic to set down the clipboard, the checklist, the megaphone.
Just for a moment you might imagine it sighing, relaxing its shoulders, realizing it doesn't have to do this job alone anymore.
And then begin tapping on the side of your hand.
“Even though my critic is tired, I can offer it rest, even though it carried heavy expectations, I can share the load”
“Even though it's been my inner task master, can now lead with self”
This part can rest.
It doesn't have to monitor every move.
It can trust self to lead wisely.
It can take a breath
S.H.I.F.T. means:

I & F: Internal Family - we meet each part as it truly is, not as the mind labels it
T: Tapping - we calm the nervous system with touch, rhythm, breath, and presence
