This is our trip to the Karangahake Gorge, a narrow valley between Coromandel and Kaimai mountain ranges where Ohinemuri and Waitawheta rivers pass through it. We got to see the remnants of the old gold processing plants called batteries and one of them was the Woodstock Battery. We crossed several hanging bridges each leading to a different walk trail. We went closer to the Ohinemuri River and enjoyed its clean, cold, and clear water. And we walked inside the Karangahake Tunnel which was so cold with minimal lighting and yet we came out with nothing but overall satisfaction.
