Nikki Nair joined us for an amazing 2.5 hour masterclass which focussed on how he creates his exciting, hybrid forms of electronic music which are receiving praise from all corners. Nikki showed us round his Atlanta studio and wrote brand new music from scratch in the session. He gets deep into how he writes music and some of the 'rules' he has for sound placement and design.

In this clip, Nikki demonstrates his signature technique which is to not have any overlapping drum sounds. He visually places everything in his sequences so that the start of the hit is happening in its own space. There were MANY other jewels of knowledge in this session. Don't miss.
