How to Reseal Lagoon Catamaran Salon Windows (450/440/400/420/ETC…)

Описание: Most Lagoon catamarans, Lagoon 450, 440, 400, 420 and similar models, will eventually experience salon window seal failure. When this happens, the polycarbonate panels need to be removed, cleaned, and properly reset to prevent leaks and structural issues.

In this video, we show you step-by-step how to repair, reseal, and reset Lagoon catamaran salon windows using the correct products and techniques.

Recommended Sealants for Lagoon Catamaran Windows
For the ideal bond and long-term performance, the proper sealant for polycarbonate salon windows is:

• Sika SG20 — Designed for structural glazing and window mounting.
No primer required and specifically formulated for polycarbonate.

For the exterior finishing bead, we recommend:
• Dow 759 — Again, no primer required.

Important: Many boatyards may recommend alternative sealants simply because they have them in stock. Always research online, read the manufacturer data sheets, and verify that the product is compatible with polycarbonate windows.

Weather Strip Requirement
You’ll also need a weather strip to control sealant flow:
• 3/16” x 3/8” weather strip installed all around the window.

⚠️ Note About the Product Used in This Video
In this specific repair, we could not source Sika SG20 on the island, so we used a 3M marine sealant without primer, at the owner’s request — fully aware that the seal may fail sooner than a proper SG20 installation. The process shown still demonstrates the correct removal/reset technique.
