In this video, we remove and clean the carburettor from this 2011 Suzuki DF9.9A 4 stroke outboard engine.
Carb - KEIHIN BCM A96C
This engine would idle for a short period of time before stumbling & stalling out.
We first thought it was the carb, which we removed and cleaned, as it showed symptoms of a blocked idle jet.
It was when apart we found the choke valve inside the carb was at fault.
Specifically the connection between the cable and valve, allowing air into the circuit unregulated.
The choke on the DF9.9A doesn’t use a choke plate but rather a valve inside the carb.
