Earlier this year we witnessed AT&SF 2926 make its first run out of the NMHR restoration site and under its own power since 1953. Now we’ll see the engine make it’s first run on the mainline.
The engine went to the two-day New Mexico Railroad Days 2023 event just South of the Alvarado Transportation Center in downtown Albuquerque. Also on display was the tool car (NMSX 3939), A BNSF ET44C4 (3695), and Amtrak’s Operation Lifesaver unit (203)
The first shot early in the morning is at Lomas Blvd. right outside the Burger King. The next is the same location just across the tracks now, and we finish off with 2926 going down the Sawmill Spur across 5th St.
