We’re taking a journey along Boston’s Freedom Trail with a focus on the North End! Starting at the iconic Quincy Market, we make our way through Government Center and down Union Street, where we pass historic watering holes like the legendary Green Dragon Tavern — famously known as the "Headquarters of the Revolution" and the meeting place of the Sons of Liberty. This group of patriots, including Paul Revere and Samuel Adams, gathered here to plot pivotal moments leading up to the American Revolution.
As we continue, we pass the Union Oyster House, America's oldest continuously operating restaurant (est. 1826), and get a glimpse across the street of the misspelled "Holacost" memorial signage at the New England Holocaust Memorial — a somber and important site.
We then swing into the Boxwood Garden on the Rose Kennedy Greenway and take a moment to relax on the swings. From there, we head to Hanover Street, the heart of Boston's North End, where we highlight the iconic cannoli rivalry between Modern Pastry and Mike's Pastry. While tourists haven't flooded in quite yet, we can already feel the energy building. We peek inside Mike's to showcase its lineup of cannoli flavors.
Before wrapping, we take in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and walk by the historic Paul Revere House, promising a closer look inside in a future video.
