This series is an introduction into Japanese calligraphy and is the fourth hands-on Magnetic Symbols video where we learn to paint a more complicated (a fun) kanji with a variety of different strokes: "The Sea."
A fun and simple way into #stillness, #serenity and deeper awareness, all you need to paint Japanese kanji is some paper, a brush, and some watercolours or ink.
Join Paul Mein in this lesson as he:
explains how this symbol came into being by analysing its components,
instructs how to paint the three-stroked "san sui" meaning "water",
demonstrates how to freely alter the basic form to create your own artistic design, and
encourages you to play and have fun with it.
Feel free to leave comments, questions or feedback, and let me know if you would like me to make a video on a particular kanji.
Don't forget to subscribe for new videos, and thanks for watching!
Paul Mein.
