The letters are the basic alphabets of the Arabic language, while Harakat are the small marks placed above or below the letters that change their sound. Similarly, there is also a clear difference between Harakat and the Madd letters. Harakat are pronounced in a short and quick way, while Madd letters are stretched and pronounced longer. In this video, we explain in detail the differences between Harf and Harakat, as well as between Harakat and Madd letters, so that learning and reciting the Qur’an becomes easier and more accurate.
