Jordan Spieth authored a record-breaking career at Jesuit Dallas before embarking on a dazzling professional career that has made him one of the most recognizable names in American golf.
At Jesuit, Spieth was a three-time UIL state champion, winning titles outright in 2009 and 2001 along with a co-championship in 2010. In 2011, Spieth set the UIL State Tournament record for lowest second round with an -8 (64), besting his previous record of -7 (65) in 2009. In addition, Spieth is one of only three golfers in UIL State Championship history to finish a tournament at -12, shooting a 132 in 2011 to set an additional state record with a seven-stroke win differential.
His prowess on the course for the Blue and Gold resulted in Spieth becoming a three-time American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) All-American.
Spieth was a two-time U.S. Junior Amateur Champion and the 2009 AJGA Rolex Player of the Year, joining Tiger Woods as the only players to capture multiple U.S. Junior Amateur titles.
After landing atop the World Amateur Rankings in 2012, Spieth helped lead the University of Texas to the 2012 NCAA Championship while earning All-American accolades and Big 12 Player of the Year honors, Spieth became the youngest player in the history of the PGA Tour to earn a membership, and was the youngest winner in 82 years with his victory at the 2013 John Deere Classic, igniting a dominant decade-long run that has included 16 professional victories, 79 top-10 finishes, and three Major championships.
Making history has become commonplace for Spieth, as he captured The Masters Tournament Championship in 2015 with a -18, tying the lowest four-round score in tournament history while becoming the first wire-to-wire winner since 1976. The victory, combined with his second major victory at the 2015 U.S. Open Championship, helped Spieth finish 2015 as the FedEx Cup Champion and PGA Player of the Year while ranking No. 1 in the Official World Golf Rankings. A win at The Open in 2017 made Spieth the second-youngest golfer in history to win the first three legs of the career Grand Slam.
Spieth has additionally utilized his platform as a means to help others, providing opportunity and support for organizations across the country. The Jordan Spieth Family Foundation has allowed Jordan an outlet to offer support to four philanthropic areas: individuals with special needs, junior golf, military families and veterans, and pediatric cancer.
