Street vendors operating in Kampala under the Federation of Uganda Traders Association (FUTA) have threatened to petition the Office of the Prime Minister over a planned eviction by the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), citing the absence of adequate alternative trading spaces. The traders say the move will severely affect their livelihoods and worsen the economic hardships they are already facing.
