In this video I will show you how to constructed cast in place concrete manhole for underground sewerage and Storm water network in a infrastructure projects
This will give a complete guide line from concrete lining to manhole benching and painting
The competent steel fixer and welder are the main key of the task , if u have both of then you don't to worry about any thing .
The competent steel fixer will help you to bind , cut and fix the steel for steel form work and the welder will make for your steel shuttering as per specification and standard
The given procedure is self explanatory .

DETAILED CONSTRUCTION METHODOLOGY:
This part of the MS cover the general construction of manhole that’s include construction of concrete wall, slabs, concrete cover, installation of valves, pipes, form work , reinforcement work , testing , painting etc that’s is related to the manhole construction and is accordance with the contract documents ,manufacturer instruction on installation and specifications. EXCAVATION AND BACK FILL:
COMPACTION AND LEVELING OF MANHOLE SURFACE
• FREQUENCY OF TESTING
• Three (3) maximum dry density tests, in accordance with ASTM D1557,or BS 1377 for a max. length of 100m. long or fraction as directed by the Engineer
• A certified technician may be on site during the back filling process. The technician will conduct in place density tests at the direction of the Engineer.
LAYING OF CONCRETE ABOVE COMPACTED SOIL
INSTALLATION OF CONCRETE FORM WORKS:
• MATERIALS:
Form work shall include all temporary or permanent forms required for forming the concrete, together with all temporary constructions required for their support.
All form-work shall be of such quality and strength as will ensure rigidity throughout the placing, ramming, vibration and setting of the concrete without visible deflection.
All lumber brought on the job site for use as forms, shall be new material.
• ACCESSORIES:
• Forms for outside concrete corners shall be chambered 30 × 30 mm, except otherwise shown on the Drawings or directed.
• Form ties shall generally be of the cone and rod type or other approved type for waterproof concrete members. The embedded metal rods shall terminate not less than 50 mm inside the formed face of the concrete, unless otherwise approved. A hole left in a face by a fastener shall be filled by an approved method, “Repair of damage”.
• Form ties shall be placed in appropriate for the particular structure.
• Limited amount of form oil shall be used, especially on the lower part.
• FORM-WORK PREPARATION
A. Forms works should prepare according to the dimension of the shop drawing or as per site engineer recommendation
B. Applied applicable covering from the standard specification refer to SECTION 01 3323.
• FABRICATION AND ERECTION
• INSERTED AND EMBEDDED ITEMS AND OPENINGS.
• Provide formed openings where required for pipes, conduits, sleeves or other work to be embedded in and passing through concrete members.
• Accurately locate and set in place items which are to be cast directly into concrete.
• Coordinate installation of concrete accessories.
• FORM REMOVAL
Leave form-work in place for following minimum periods of time after placing concrete.
• 2 days for walls and sides of beams.
• 21 days for, slabs, decks and other structural members.
•
• FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
• Inspect and check complete form-work to ensure that work is in accordance with form-work design, and supports parts are secure.
• Inform engineer when form-work is complete and has been cleaned, to allow for inspection.

INSTALLATION OF STEEL REINFORCEMENT
Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section.
• Related Sections:
1. Concrete Formwork Section 03 1000
2. Cast in place concrete Section 03 3000
• MATERIALS
Reinforcing steel shall unless otherwise specified on the Drawings be the deformed high yield steel grade 460 type 2(ASTM A615M) unless otherwise shown on the Drawing.
Reinforcement for use in reinforced concrete shall comply where appropriate with BS 4449, 4482, 4483, EN 1992 and BS 8666. Reinforcement for structures shall comply with BS 5400. The minimum Modulus of Elasticity (E) for any reinforcing steel bar shall be not less than 200kN/mm².
All reinforcement bars shall be free from detrimental dirt, mile scale, loose rust, paint, grease, oil or other foreign substance.
• DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
Steel Reinforcement:
• Deliver, store, and handle steel reinforcement to prevent bending and damage.
