On August 28, 2026, a deep partial lunar eclipse will turn the Full Moon an intense red as the Earth moves between the Sun and the Moon, casting its shadow (the umbra) across 93% of the lunar surface. We call it a “deep partial” eclipse because it will look very close to a total lunar eclipse!
