today we listened to Walk by Pantera for the very first time and honestly… we were not expecting that level of raw energy.

this was our introduction to one of the most iconic groove metal songs of the 90s, and you can immediately feel why it became such a staple in heavy music culture. the aggression. the stripped down production. the chant style chorus. the live show chaos. it feels less like a polished metal single and more like a statement.

we went into this knowing almost nothing about Pantera, other than their massive influence on metal alongside bands like Metallica and other 90s heavy hitters. seeing the Walk music video filmed in a live setting completely changed the experience. the crowd energy, the stage presence, and dimebag darrell’s guitar work added a whole different layer to the song.

the groove metal riffs are undeniable. that tone is thick, punchy, and aggressive without being overly polished. while the chant style hook is not usually our thing, the instrumental sections, especially the solo and outro, were standout moments for us. the rawness is what made it hit.

this was our first Pantera reaction, but definitely not our last. if there are deeper cuts or heavier tracks we need to hear next, let us know.
