That worked out well for Anya Taylor-Joy, who has made several horror movies (including two with M. Night Shyamalan) and a few dark comedies over the course of her career. So, when it came time to make The Menu, Taylor-Joy instinctively knew which ingredients to put into her performance to make the movie work.
