Institutional and commercial domestic hot water applications such as hotels, hospitals and schools as well as large residential homes demand system delivery of tempered water for a broad range of flows. Demand can range, for example, from a minimum of 1 to 2 GPM when one fixture is being used to up to 50 or more GPM when multiple fixtures, or high-flow fixtures, are consuming water simultaneously. For these applications, a common solution is a thermostatic mixing valve assembly that is referred to as a high/low mixing valve.
