Coleen Barnhardt is always looking for adaptive ways to help scaffold learning. Two quilting designs she had trouble learning are nice round circles that could be repeated at the same size and traditional bump-back feathers. Coleen demonstrates how rulers can help you learn both quilting designs. The circles can also be quilted as mini-spirals to help disguise any minor imperfections. Coleen also shows examples of simple patterns quilted in larger spaces. In the Short Takes! on Longarm Quilting, Marie Eldredge shows how black yarn applied with the couching foot can lend visual emphasis to quilting designs. The yarn can be applied both with free-motion quilting and with the ProStitcher.
