Summer 2020, James and I explored the Civil Defense Cave in Rexburg, Idaho with his dad and stepmom. The cave is actually a large lava tubes and got its name during the Cold War era when it was going to be used as a shelter from nuclear attack, military prison, or for storage of materials. It remains cold year-round and can be icy in spots! Make sure to bring layers and a flashlight!
