Taken at the 2007 Carols by Cruiser, on the beautiful Port Hacking waterways in the Sutherland Shire.
Organised by the Port Hacking RMYC and held annually to raise funds for a selected charity, the lead boat for the afternoon is the TSMV Gunnamatta from Cronulla Cruises. The Gunnamatta has a choir on board, and is broadcast on local radio station 2SERFM.
The Royal Motor Yacht Club at Burraneer Bay take bookings for passengers on the Gunnamatta. Club members and local boaties join in the fun, with both boats and passengers decorated for Christmas! These boats either follow behind the Gunnamatta, or moor in the various bays and wait for the procession.
Many waterfront parties are held at private homes, headlands or public moorings to watch the passing parade and join in the singing and festivities.
RMYC volunteers zip between the boats in rubber duckies, collecting money for the Childrens Hospital. Enjoy!
