Here’s a quick video detailing the process of pulling my stock type 4 1.7 motor and rebuilding it into a 1911cc.
Specs:
-Split case rebuild
-Open up heads to 1.8 size, 105mm bore.
-AA 96mm Piston and Cyl set.
-SCAT C35 cam and Solid lifters.
-stock heads FRESH rebuild.
-stock crank (66mm) is 1911, 71mm would be for 2056
-New components all around (oil, cooler, seals, etc)
A lot of the time spent was learning valve geometry. A lot to wrap your head around.
Same info for a VW type 4 engine.
