Cards and key fobs can be a security risk; people share or misplace them. They are also expensive, difficult to administrate and usually only work on one system, forcing you to carry multiple credentials. Biometrics can be expensive, invasive and unreliable, keypads have no audit trail and you never know who has the code. These older technologies are mounted on the outside of buildings, which increase the risk of vandals and are subject to the elements. They also require you to get close or even touch them to administer which can be inconvenient and unsanitary.
ECKey EK6 Bluetooth Proximity Readers solve these problems. They work with all existing access control systems and improve security compliance, as people are less likely to share their Smartphone. ECKey Bluetooth Proximity Readers work even when Wi-Fi and cellular networks don’t. These adjustable long-range readers can operate up to 30’ (10m) away. This enables you to mount the readers on the secure side of the door away from vandals and the weather or out-of-sight for architecturally or historically sensitive areas, saving installation and maintenance costs.
