To show you how this works, TecLab staff members Ernst Willingshofer and Sjaak van Meulebrouck created a scale model with sand. Utrecht University’s Tectonic Modelling laboratory (“TecLab”) conducts state-of-the-art scientific research to investigate the fundamental processes related to the large-scale deformation of the crust and lithosphere of the Earth. TecLab is embedded within the Tectonics research group, Department of Earth Sciences.
