LOST || FINALE (Read description!)

There are times where we don’t know what to say, how to react, what to do. This is one of those times for me. Lost has been a part of my life for so…so long, through the good and the bad and the messy. It’s surreal to think that’s it’s complete. 5 years! That’s incredible! Beyond…incredible. How ever could I write something enough to give those years justice? I guess…I could go back to the beginning.

Lost started out on my old channel, TheGoldenRosie, as one of my most spontaneous decisions. I had tried TWICE to make an animated series prior, first with a little project called Lemon’s story, and then again a few months later with Shoreline. Lemon’s story was bound to fail, falling apart before the first episode. Shoreline…met the same fate. I had animated about a fourth of the first episode when I just couldn’t stick it through anymore. I dropped the project and same-day style immediately replaced it with LOST. Oh what a nightmare production was for this!! I had gotten voice actors and, unfortunately, most of them left or quit without telling me why, some are argumentative about little things and some just gave themselves a part that didn’t fit! Yet…in the rubble of my inexperience, there were the gems. The people who stuck around this whole time…5 years of voicing, of watching, of being a motivating force that LOST wasn’t going to die to the same fate as Shoreline. These are the people who make great things happen. The ambitious, the kind, the fun, the understanding. This project is as much theirs as it is mine.

STORIES OF LOST

I had written the script for the first episode twice! The pilot was quickly put together so it doesn’t give much for story. First episode started being made, and I hated it! Absolutely despised it in-fact, it looked so bad and the background noise was so. Loud! I couldn’t stand it. Off it went, I deleted the entire think and started from scratch. Okay, okay, this HAD to work! I got started, and yes! I was pretty much nearly complete, getting so SO close to finishinggg! Oh….I-it’s gone. My animation program (flipaclip at the time) had malfunctioned and deleted all my work. Not just lost either, I mean everything. Okay…so there goes hundred of hours again. Fun. Fun. Okay, surely third times the charm. I started the entire first episode from scratch, AGAIN, and put it together till completion. Oh my great beautiful stars in the sky and tress on the horizon it WORKED! About time too, haha.

A lot of people who’ve seen lost have mentioned the……plot holes. Ya. Ya I understand with more certainty than anyone that there were and are some HUGE plot holes! I had no experience whatsoever making lost, seriously. I was just an ambitious amateur with no knowledge of production management or saying no to people. What a time! Everything about lost was a learning curve, or…more accurately a learning mountain. My first time voice acting, animating long projects, managing people, etc…etc. I had NO idea what I was doing! But that’s just it, I learned from it. To explain my…horrendous plot holes, let’s start from the beginning: Okay first of all, lost was written as I went along, I wrote the first episode, animated it, wrote the second, got the new voices, animated, and so on so forth. Not….very um…organized. I made up stuff as I went along basically. Wow! Okay….not a great idea maybe. This have a thousand plot holes, issues, inconsistencies, shall I go on? Yet it’s a beautiful example of learning! The first episodes are…questionable, but as the series progresses, things change. I didn’t know what episode 5 was in episode 3, and I didn’t know how the story was gonna end until I was writing the ending! My goodness was it disorienting.

Lemon!!! Lemon my absolute EVERYTHING hahahah! Lemon is one of my oldest and dearest characters. Go on my old channel, click “see oldest” and you’ll see her in all her giraffe neck glory. She’s the only one from that time that I still actively draw, and love like everything I’ve ever made! This character is my inspiration, not her personality, not her story (oh boy how it’s changed!!!) but her existence. She originally wasn’t going to be in lost. Lost was just some dumb story about Cei-cei and Ash (who weren’t sisters in the first draft!) doing stuff. But lemon changed that. I loved her so much that I shoved her in and Bam! Lost world was born. It developed and it grew, through roleplays, through animation, etc. Axel in fact is also super old, and he used to BE the crystal! Like- a floating crystal, literally! It was ridiculous but he was the very first shadow dog. Wow I love lemon. I’ll release more stuff for her as time goes on, her story, her life, etc. She’s everything.

I have so many stories about LOST. Unfortunately descriptions have a max word limit so, I’ll hurry it up. If this hasn’t made one thing clear, let me specify: Lost doesn’t end at its end. There’s a thousand stories here. So let me say one more thing.
