Our new album, "Soul of the Journey," begins by stepping off the main path and into a place where the world falls silent. This is Aokigahara, the Sea of Trees.
Located at the base of Mount Fuji, this vast and beautiful forest grew on the hardened lava of an ancient eruption. It is famous for its unique, haunting atmosphere. The density of the trees and the volcanic rock floor are said to muffle all sound, creating a profound and sometimes unnerving silence. This track is an atmospheric exploration of that quiet—a journey through the moss-covered lava rock, the labyrinth of twisted roots, and the deep, somber legends the forest is said to hold.
This is not a song about the forest's modern reputation, but a respectful, melancholic reflection on a place of mysterious, dark beauty and the heavy secrets it keeps.
Our next journey takes us up a sacred mountain to a place of lamplight and prayer: "Koya-san by Lantern Light."
