Thousands of solar customers across the U.S. have been left in the dark after SunPower, once a leading solar energy provider, filed for bankruptcy in 2024.
With broken systems, failed inverters, and no customer support, many homeowners, including the Pinneri’s on Staten Island, are now stuck paying for solar panels that no longer work.
CBS News New York’s Mahsa Saeidi investigates what’s being done to fix this problem and speaks to Complete Solar Corporation CEO T.J. Rodgers, who bought part of SunPower's assets in the bankruptcy, on how they are trying to help customers.
