Sossusvlei located in the Naukluft National Park in Namibia is a must-see when traveling to Namibia. Here you will find the iconic red sand dunes of Namibia and the Deadvlei. If you are fit enough I highly recommend hiking the Big Daddy Dune which will give you a bird’s eye view of Deadvlei and panoramic views of the desert landscape.

Etosha National Park is another highlight when traveling to Namibia. Here you will be able to see the Big Five uniquely adapted to the desert terrain. The park is also iconic for its salt pans which form stark white landscapes.

Best time to visit Namibia

The best time to travel to Namibia will be during its cooler months from May to October. During this time the temperatures are just above 25 degrees celsius and the chance of rain is low. This is also the best time for wildlife viewing in Etosha National Park making it the peak travel season. If you are planning a Namibia trip during these months, you will have to plan well in advance to secure availability.
