Prime Minister Narendra Modi hit out at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar - whom he did not name - Wednesday over his comments about the role of women's education in population control. At a campaign rally in Madhya Pradesh's Guna, the PM referred to "a prominent leader of INDI alliance (the 28-member INDIA opposition bloc)" who had used "indecent language (shamelessly) in the Assembly".

The Directorate of Education has ordered advancing of the winter break for all the schools in Delhi in the wake of severe air quality levels prevailing in Delhi. According to the order, the schools can be totally closed from November 9 (tomorrow) to November 18 (Saturday) during which both children and teachers can stay home.
As Delhi continues to register high levels of pollution in its air, Environment Minister Gopal Rai called an urgent meeting to discuss the implementation of the Supreme Court’s observations regarding the odd-even scheme for the vehicles on the roads on of national capital, which will be enforced from November 13 to November 20.

Expressing unhappiness against the Centre for allegedly failing to release input subsidy to tackle drought and release crop compensation, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday said it’s the duty of the Union government to consider the state’s proposal and release grants to tackle the drought-like situation.
