Here’s one of my last Chicago vlogs of the year. I’m returning to Los Angeles soon, to spend time with family and take a break from my university studies. In the meantime, enjoy this video as I explore a new part of the city of Chicago.
This place is near Irving Park, north of downtown Chicago and even further north than the Ukrainian village. We’re going to visit a restaurant owned by Kyrgyz people, known as Arzan Cafe. It is full of central Asian food, from noodles in beshbarmak, to meat-filled samsas, to Uzbek plov, to lagman. It’s an amazing place with an interesting menu. They even have other dishes like Turkish baklava (and American stuff like burgers).
There are some other interesting features worth checking out. There’s a painting of a mountain in Kyrgyzstan (the mountain is called Tien Shan), and there’s a picture of a yurt, common for the nomadic people of Central Asia.
