Republican Congressman Mike Flood held a town hall event this week and it could not have gone worse for him. The crowd erupted in boos and jeers when Flood tried to defend kicking millions of people off of Medicaid coverage by saying that they can no longer “choose to not work.” That isn’t happening, and the public is well aware of the truth at this point. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains what happened.

Republican Congressman, Mike Flood of Nebraska decided to go back home this week. Obviously they're on a recess until some point next month. And he thought to himself, you know, it'd be a good idea. I should do a town hall. After all. I did one in March where everybody shouted at me and hated everything I had to say, surely this one will go better. Like I'm not gonna get booed to hell. And back during this town hall, they got it out of their system and wouldn't you know it, Mike Flood got completely humiliated by his own constituents in Lincoln, Nebraska. And what happened is this, Mike Flood, of course, was trying to defend the one big beautiful bill and defend the cuts to Medicaid, which of course we now know thanks to the polling that has come out, that a majority of people do not want any cuts to Medicaid. And that's important because at one point Mike Flood gets mad and he says, well, you guys are not, you know, representative of the state of Nebraska. Actually they are. You are not ironically enough as their representative. You are not representative of the views held by your own constituents. So Mike Flood had a hell of a bad time, and in case you haven't seen it, here it is,
It talks about two big changes to the Medicaid program. One of those changes is that if you are able to work and you are able bodied, you have to work. If you choose not to work, you do not get free healthcare. You do not get free healthcare. Okay. Okay, so here's a question. So here's a question. Do you think that people who are 28 years old that can work and refuse to work should get free healthcare? I don't think that a majority of Nebraskans agree with you.
