Israel's military stated on Tuesday that its ground incursions into southern Lebanon are aimed at targeting Hezbollah strongholds that pose a threat to Israel, rather than being an attack on the Lebanese people. Israeli Military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari stated, "These localized ground raids will target Hezbollah strongholds that threaten Israeli towns, kibbutzim, and communities along our border." He added that Hezbollah has converted Lebanese villages near Israeli settlements into military bases prepared for potential assaults on Israel.
