The Forbidden City is a former imperial palace complex in Beijing, China, built between 1406 and 1420 for the Ming and Qing emperors. Now a museum called the Palace Museum, it served as the political and ceremonial center of the Chinese empire for almost 500 years and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The complex is known for its immense size, traditional Chinese palatial architecture, and historical significance.
I visited the Forbidden City with my Esperantist friends and met many people with Chinese traditional clothing. Please enjoy my walking through the magnificent palace.
