"'The Adventures of Joe 90' is a classic drum solo which was written in 1986 by former corps members Brian Pentony and Ross Andrews. It was during a period of intense change within the fife and drum corps where they were really trying to push the Corps musically.

"This solo has gained increasing popularity on an international scale as well. We often use it to break kind of that language barrier—specifically at international tattoos through the use of some great rudimental drum music. As Ross Andrews told me, 'This solo was meant to be fun and it was written for drummers by drummers.'"

Trivia:
The title of this piece comes from a 1968 British sci-fi television show entitled "Joe 90." It was the product of "Supermarionation" (animated marionettes). It follows the exploits of nine-year-old schoolboy Joe McClaine, who becomes a spy after his adoptive father invents a device capable of recording expert knowledge and experience and transferring it to another human brain. Armed with the skills of the world's top academic and military minds, Joe is recruited by the World Intelligence Network (WIN) as its "Most Special Agent".
