The Valley of the Kings is a vast ancient necropolis on the west bank of the Nile River near Luxor, Egypt,
(c. 1550–1070 BCE). It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its rock-cut tombs
Tombs: Over 60 tombs and chambers have been discovered.
The valley is most famous for the 1922 discovery of the nearly intact tomb of the boy-king Tutankhamun (KV62) by Howard Carter.
Seti I (KV17): Often considered the finest tomb in the valley, it features extensive, well-preserved, and vivid painted reliefs. It is the longest tomb and requires a special ticket.
Ramses VI (KV9): Known for its brilliant astronomical ceiling and detailed scenes from religious texts like the Book of Gates and the Book of Caverns.
Tutankhamun (KV62): While small, it is the only royal tomb found mostly intact. The mummy remains in the tomb, but most treasures are in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
