Ferrari will unveil a 1000 hp hybrid supercar at the end of the month, and a new clip reportedly showing this new vehicle has been uploaded on Instagram.

During a client event, the new Ferrari Roma was unveiled. This new model is a mid-front-engined 2+ coupe and Ferrari says its “harmonious lines, timeless elegance and cutting-edge technology set new standards in the category.”

Powering the new Ferrari is a turbocharged V8 engine. Unlike the rest of the V8’s in this award-winning engine’s family, it has 611 horsepower and 561 lb-ft of torque and can spin up to 7,500 rpm. Mated to this engine is the new 8-speed DCT gearbox that made its debut in the SF90 Stradale.

The Roma’s powertrain can launch it from 0 to 62 mph in 3.4-seconds and 0 to 124 mph in 9.3 seconds. Ferrari also notes that it can hit a top speed of 199 mph.

Unlike most videos, which simply show camouflaged prototypes going about their business, this one involves a bit of chasing, too.

The description notes that they were driving a 488 Spider when they stumbled across the Ferrari prototype bathed in thick camouflage. Shortly after they managed to get up behind the prototype, the Ferrari test driver behind the wheel made them and swiftly pulled into a parking lot next to the road, trying to hide behind a row of cars.

The guys in the 488 Spider quickly realized what is going on and chased the prototype around the parking lot, all while giggling to themselves. The test driver eventually pulled back onto the road and was again followed by the 488, though he was able to lose them after indicating left but aggressively turning to the right instead.

An official invitation to the premiere of this new Ferrari model on May 31 was recently published online, confirming that the car will have 1000 CV – that’s 986 hp.

Limited details about the car’s powertrain are known at this moment, but we know it will be some kind of hybrid. There are conflicting reports about whether it will be a twin-turbocharged V6 or a twin-turbocharged V8, but either way, it should be searingly fast. leak leaks leaked 29th may spy spyspot
