Canada Bay Green Waste - Cleanaway -

Описание: In this video we see a truck from Cleanaway's operations in Canada Bay Council, the truck featured in this video is #576 (SL00434) collecting green waste on a sunny Thursday Morning through the streets of Concord and North Starthfield. The Cleanaway contract in Canada Bay Council has been running since 2004, and that is a solid ten years these trucks have been going for. The contract I think expires either late 2014 or early 2015. These trucks have been kept in pretty neat condition and especially this greens truck having the same driver since the start of the contract has meant that this truck works like a gem, as you will see.

I managed to head out to Canada Bay Council a while ago just before the previous holidays on a Thursday and on a student free day. I knew that I had to find this truck and it was not that hard as just I arrived, I found many green bins that had not been emptied so just waited a couple of minutes and this truck popped out of nowhere. After getting the ok from the driver to video and after having a chat, I managed to follow this truck for a good two hours which meant I got heaps of video and have plenty more to come. This truck finished up at around 11am for the day and I presume the greens truck starts around 5am, doing full two loads for each day.

Truck #576, is the sole and only green waste truck in Canada Bay Council, the Side Loader fleet comprises of three garbage trucks, two recycle trucks, one green waste truck and a spare (#578). The reason it was a must to get Canada Bay Greens as there is nothing on youtube of this truck collecting greens but Jeremy and Mitch did get the greens but with the spare truck, so I am happy there is know something on youtube of the actual Canada Bay Green Waste truck. There is only a need for one green waste truck as this truck can handle it fine but sometimes that Burwood GenV is called in just to help cover on greens in the heavier parts of the year, like spring and summer.

As you guys will notice the green waste bins are a little different in Canada Bay Council from what you usually see. These green bins are known as Bio-insert bins and are made by Nylex and mostly used for green waste collections. These bins can be seen in Canada Bay and Mosman councils in Sydney and Monee Valley Council in Melbourne. These bins do help a little bit with the grass not sticking but they are a total pain most of the time as the inserts pop out, bin juice and water builds up in the bottom and sticks get jammed while emptying.

This truck is a Iveco Acco Macdonald Johnston (MJE) MkIII and these trucks are becoming extinct across Australia, so it is great to see this truck still going hard and fast every day.
