To find out which apps are draining your iPhone’s battery the most, first open your Settings. Scroll down and select Battery. Now scroll down to see the list of stats for battery usage by app. The apps that have used the most battery power will be listed at the top, and the list continues based on battery usage from most to least in terms of percentage. If you tap Show Activity, you can see a breakdown of the amount of time the app was running both on-screen and in the background. The ones that spend a lot of time running in the background will be the more problematic ones, as it’s draining your battery when you aren’t actively using the app. You can tap Show Battery Usage to go back to the list of percentages.

To prevent these apps from draining your battery more in the future, we’d suggest turning off Background App Refresh for the apps that spend the most time running in the background. To do this, go to your General settings. Then select Background App Refresh. At the top, you can turn off Background App Refresh for all apps. Alternatively, you can switch off Background App Refresh for individual apps that are draining your battery while running in the background.

If you had apps using lots of battery power but only while you were actively using them on your screen, to cut that down you would need to cut back on your screen time on those apps. To help you with this you can go into your Screen Time settings and set limits for these apps, or use screen time tools offered by the apps themselves.
