Alanabeth Duncan returns to put the Deering Golden Era through its paces with a fantastic rendition of Bugle Call Rag. The song started life as "Bugle Call Blues" and was first recorded by the New Orleans Rhythm Kings in 1922. Later renditions became known as Bugle Call Rag. A banjo version was later recorded by the great Bill Monroe in 1961 and, more recently, released as a single on EMG Records by Russ Carson.
Alanabeth uses the all maple Golden Era to highlight the beautiful harmonic rings that make this song so recognizable, before driving into the driving solo sections, adding her own touch of flair to the occasion. The Golden Era is one of our best-selling thoroughbred banjos, honoring the historical banjos of yesteryear.
